Our tutors are passionate about wine and we are proud to offer the highest standard of WSET® education available in Italy.
Wine Academy Italia tutors are highly skilled professionals with extensive experience in the international wine business, this allows us to offer a unique global perspective from both inside and outside of Italy. In order to offer students the highest possible quality of teaching our courses are overseen by qualified WSET Certified Educators, we can, therefore, deliver and monitor quality closely. We offer a limited amount of courses each year with a choice of venues across the country. A great deal of work goes into the preparation of each course including the selection of international tasting samples, many of these bottles are sourced from outside of Italy.

Robert has enjoyed a thirty-plus year career in the international wine business. After graduating in hotel management, he joined the wine trade in London with royal warrant wine merchants John Harvey & Sons and became one of the youngest students to gain the WSET® Diploma. In recent years he studied at the Institute of Masters of Wine in London and has had the opportunity to travel throughout the world’s major wine regions, written numerous articles for publication and presented content on BBC radio.
For the past decade, he has lived in Umbria and as a WSET® Certified Educator and the Wine Academy Italia Education Director he oversees all of our courses.
Besides this, he is a regular judge at the Decanter Magazine World Wine Awards.
After a Masters Degree in Economics, Chiara decided to specialise in Food & Wine Marketing and Communication and gained experience in Italy and California where she studied Wine Marketing & Sales at Napa Valley College and also in Canada where she worked at the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Toronto. Today Chiara works as a wine & food tour leader; wine educator, wine competition judge and also collaborates with wine, food and travel guides. Chiara is a former Wine Academy Italia student and now holds the WSET Level 4 Diploma and WSET Certified Educator qualifications; and is a certified AIS Sommelier, Professional Taster and Educator.
