WSET Systematic Approach to Wine Tasting

WSET trains students to taste using its benchmark Systematic Approach to Wine Tasting.

There are, of course, numerous organisations that include training on how to taste wine.  You also don’t have to have certification to be a good taster, but it does help.

From the different approaches available the WSET system gives students the technique to write consistent, accurate and concise tasting notes.  The Systematic Approach to Wine Tasting also develops your critical ability, something lacking in other methodologies.  As an industry professional, being able to appraise wine from both a commercial and qualitative perspective is an essential skill.

Exposure to wine from across the globe, many of which are unavailable in Italy, also improves both your tasting judgement and expertise.
